About the Aliso Canyon Round
AB 157 appropriated funding to the Extreme Heat and Community Resilience Grant Program to support projects that strengthen extreme heat resilience within the designated Aliso Canyon Disaster Area. This funding is provided through the settlement paid by SoCalGas for the 2015 Aliso Canyon disaster, which released more than 100,000 tons of methane into the San Fernando Valley from a natural gas storage facility in Porter Ranch.
Eligible Geographic Area

Funds shall be for use in the “Aliso Canyon Disaster Area” in the following City of Los Angeles communities:
- Porter Ranch
- Granada Hills
- Northridge
- Chatsworth
- North Hills
- Canoga Park
- Reseda
- Winnetka
- West Hills
- Van Nuys
- Lake Balboa
